QQBeastMode This was my first experience with Paysage d"Hiver. If you have any interest in exploring the cold and dark side of atmospheric black metal, I would suggest this album to most new listeners. The inhospitable nature of being in a winter storm, with just the maw of the void staring back at you is what this album made me feel. Despite that, it is a comforting feeling. Favorite track: Finsternis.

Jordan Vauvert S'il fallait comparer la discographie de Paysage d'Hiver à une chaîne de montagnes, Winterkaelte serait un des plus hauts sommets mais aussi un des plus ardus. Tout d'abord parce qu'on y trouve ce black metal atmosphérique polaire extrêmement rude dans lequel Wintherr hurle, les poumons déchirés par le froid ("Ich Starre", "Eintritt In Die Sphären"). Ensuite parce les instants plus calmes ("Einsamkeit" et à quelques moments dans "Winter") amplifient la verticalité — au point de toucher étoiles. Favorite track: Winter.

pickboy87 Cold, dark, and encompassing. You feel like you're stuck in a blizzard with no where to go. Favorite track: Ich Starre.

hipstatomic Might be his best album. Truly a masterpiece of atmospheric black metal. Favorite track: Einsamkeit.

Evok It's more than just the defining sound winter itself... it's a truly spiritual experience that you NEED to hear. Favorite track: Eintritt In Die Sphären.

Mikolaj is a real multi-talent in bass as well as guitar as well as vocals and "Darkside" Maciej's drumming is a well-calibrated 100th-of-seconds-clockwork. Not for nothing is Mgla considered as a standard for a lot of other blacker-than-black metal bands. I hope to see this band live once..... grote_smurf
